Tagglebump

Tagglebump [ tag-uhl-bump ]

noun

  • the act of using a car's cruise control in conjunction with distance sensing technology to tag along behind a preceding vehicle, thereby being even lazier than normal.
  • see also "active cruise control", "dynamic cruise control", "smart cruise control", "intelligent cruise control", and "snufflebumping".

usage

  • I tagglebumped all the way home from the coast.

instructions

  • Set cruise control speed slightly higher (~10kph) than the car in front of you.
  • Set the following distance to be 3 or 4 car lengths.
  • You should then remain a constant distance behind the car you are following.
  • Stay awake and attentive. Weird things can happen when the car ahead of you does unexpected things (like overtaking a car ahead of it). This is your problem, not theirs.
